Spitzer Hall of Human Origins

visiting this hall was interesting. even though i already know where we originated from due to text books through out school, seeing the facts was interesting. as i walked in i was amazed i felt like wow this is wierd but interesting because i thought wow we really originated from these ugly people. but no seriously it was cool. there was one piece i was looking at where this woman was using her teeth to skin their food so that traces of the animal wouldnt be found. women back then didnt live that ong, they usually didnt pass age 40. as tools people used rocks and sticks to hunt and kill ther food.

ETHOS:
the volunteer teacher who was there new a lot about the past she was serious about the work. she had a passion and made what was there more itersting because it made us stay there and listen to what else she had to say
LOGOS:
there were a lot of artifacts and documentation of the past and where we originated from. what people looked like back then and ofcourse what we look like now. also how the human brain evolved.
PATHOS:
i was interested i was shocked at what i saw. its different from what you see in text books to actually see them.

FACTS:

Global Warming
The amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has increased due to the extensive burning of fossil fuels, which started with the industrial revolution around 1850. Since then, global temperature has also increased. Because carbon dioxide is a greehouse gas, scientists believe it is partly responsible for this warming.

Glacial Ice Records the Climate of Past Ages
The composition of the ice itself and of the air bubbles and dust trapped in it record changes in temperature, humidity, atmospheric circulation, volcanic activity, extent of sea ice, and even atmospheric pollution by human activity. The upper layers of ice cores are dated by counting the annual dark and light layers, which reflect seasonal variations in atmospheric dust. Deep layers are compressed and deformed, making the climate record less distinct.
Carbon Dioxide and Global Warming

The amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is related to global temperature: as the earth warms, CO2 increases, and vice versa. Measuring CO2 in ice cores provides a record of atmospheric CO2 variation over thousands of yrs- from one glacial period to another. By tracking the natural variability of CO2, scientists have discovered that the recent rise in atmospheric CO2 has been caused by human activities.

Pollutants from Human Activity
The burning of coal releases nitrogen and sulfur compounds into the atmosphere. They show up as higher concentrations of nitrate and sulfate compounds in ice. Average increases in these pollutants bacome evident in ice core layers beginning in the late 19th century.

today isnt a good day to post...today all day literally all day i had a donut from dunkin donuts. my grandmother was rushed to the hospital so i was all nervous and couldnt eat. thank god tho shes now home and better...

YUK BURGER KING

i woke up late ofcourse and i thought "wow i havent had Burger King in like forever!" so i got up and went to Burger King now i havent beent here in awhile so i didnt know what i wanted to eat. everything looked sooo good. so i thought "what would fill me up the most" because i was starving. but i knew if i ate something extreme i would then get sick. so i ordered the chicken fries meal king size so it came with 9 chicken fries a king sized french fries and a king sized cherry coke...i really didnt need all that food but i havent been there in soo long. well i didnt finish the whole meal ofcoure, it was just too much for me. so i had 4 chicken fries and saved the rest for my puppy, some french fries were left over and half of the cherry coke gone. i was full. and then it hit me as to why i dont eat there anymore. Burger King makes me sick! so i spent the rest of the day with a tummy ache...no food for me for the rest of the day... :(

anotHER DAy

october 14
sundays are usually my laid back days. i woke up late like 2pm got ready to meet some friends for late breakfast at our favorite place to eat which is IHOP. everytime i go to IHOP i get the same thing. i got the rooty tooti fresh and frooty plate with toast on the side and to drink i had some NESTEA ice tea. now the dish came with 2 sunnyside up eggs with 2 bacon strips 2 sausage links and hashbrowns and on the side 3 pancakes topped with strawberry and whipped cream, i added some extra strawberry syrup. this was a first for me becasue i finished the whole meal by myself. after IHOP we went to a hookah bar in astoria and to drink i had 2 mango juices. after that i went home and my mom ha made some grilled chicken with brocolii and white rice. i was still full from breakfast so i had to wait awhile to eat again. i ate later around 11pm.

well today is a good food day... today i woke up at 11:30 nd my mom had made breakfast. so for breakfast i had 2 sunnyside up eggs with 3 slices of spam and 4 pieces of bacon (i love bacon) and toast with some tropicana orange and tangerine juice YUMMY...i love breakfast especially when my mother cooks. now such a big breakfast fills me up until late dinner...i had dinner with my friends around 10pm, but until that time i had a few snacks. i drank 4 bottles of water, 2 cartons of tropicana orange juice with calcium, 2bags of wise jalepeno chips, 1 bar of hersheys chocolate with almonds, and a piece of party cake at my grandmothers house. so around 10 i meet up with a few friends to have dinner. we went to my old job santa fe steakhouse to eat. i had a 20oz strawberry daquari, some marble bread with butter, chips and salsa and a ceasar salad. then for my meal i had a 12oz prime rib cooked medium with homemade mash potatoe with potatoe skin peels in it. (MMmmmm) when i got home i had some ice cream fried ice cream flavor...delicious

friday september 28
this day was a very busy day for me. around 2pm i was able to have myself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a bottle of aquafina water. i was running around so much that i didnt even realize my hunger and the fact that i didnt eat all day until 9pm when i met up with my friends for dinner at Bronx BBQs. together we ordered fried calamari as an appetizer (YUMmmMMy) and then i had a ceasar salad before the meal. to drink i had a 20oz strawberry pina colada. for my meal i ordered a T-bone steak cooked medium with a baked potatoe. i ate half of the steak and took the rest home to my puppy. i didnt have room for dessert, i never do. around 12am i had myself a midnight snack. i had some upside down pineapple pie ice cream. and that was that for today.
saturday september 29
this morning i woke up around 10am to get to the post office before it closed and then came straight home to go back to sleep. i woke up again around 3pm and i had a bowl of toasted almond cereal with milk. i then had 3 bottles of aquafina water and then around 7pmi went to this famous Pizza place in Astoria called Singas and had 3 small slices from a personal pan just plain cheeze. at 9:30pm i went to my old job Santa Fe Steakhouse to visit my friend and ofcourse to eat. their food is the best. i ordered a half rack of baby back ribs with sweet potatoe french fries and a ceasar salad. i ordered 2 mango daqauris with 151 floaters. i didnt eat the ribs though, i brought them home thinking i would get hungry later because the drinks and salad filled me up but i winded up giving the leftovers to my grandmothers dog who doesnt eat dog food, she really enjoyed it. after that i went into Astoria to smoke some coconut flavored hookah and to play chess. i had 4 bottles of water 2 bags of jalepeno chips and a bag of sour patch kids candy. and i was off to bed for the next day.
sunday september 30
i slept in today. i went out to eat Burger King (ewww) around 6pm. i have the chicken french fries with buffalo sauce and a king size french fries with a king sized nestea and for dessert i had a hersheys chocolate pie. throught the night i had 3 bottles of water and that was that for me.

it may seem wierd but i am not the type of person to eat much but im healthy. i dont starve myself because when my body tells me its hungry i eat. there are days that i pig out and i eat everything and anything but that has to be a moment type of thing and it doesnt happen often. i dont lie you can ask people around me, im not a food person but i chose this blog because i felt it would help me realize what i eat and dont eat and how long it takes for me to eat. i need a healthier eating habbit because this cant be healthy.
